I remember, I remember,
The house where I was born,
The little window where the sun He never came a wink too soon, nor brought too long a day,
But now, I often wish the night Had borne my breath away!
I remember, I remember,
The roses, red and white,
The vi’lets, and the lily-cups,
Those flowers made of light!
The lilacs where the robin built,
And where my brother set The laburnum on his birthday，－ The tree is living yet!
I remember, I remember,
Where I was used to swing, and thought the air must rush as fresh, to swallows on the wing;
My spirit flew in feathers then,
That is so heavy now
And summer pools could hardly cool The fever on my brow!

[1] 无常：佛教用语，世间一切之法，生灭迁流，刹那不住，谓之无常
[2] 金兰：指兄弟、朋友。南朝宋·刘义庆《世说新语·贤媛》：“山公与嵇阮一面，契若金兰。”
[3] 飞燕：<<诗经·国风·邶风>>“燕燕于飞，差池其羽，之子于归，远送于野，瞻望不及，泣涕如雨。” 传旧时国君送妹远嫁，伤感而作。取其思念亲人之意。
